Ashley Wilkerson has been sharing her poetic gifts and entertaining audiences for decades. She is the author of two books: Reverence: Poems and Meditations  & Midnight Verses Morning Poems. Ashley has been commissioned to write and perform for various organizations and institutions including the Alliance for Safety and Justice, South Dallas Cultural Center, NAACP, National Performance Network, etc. She's has also been the featured poet at an array of venues throughout the country and most recently performed at Getty 25, on Brandon Jackson's album, "Full~ Feel",  and can be heard on The Homecoming Podcast with Dr. Thema.

 

Ashley received her B.A. from Eugene Lang College - The New School for Liberal Arts, and was a student of the  late-great Sekou Sundiata. She is an alumni of Community Literature Initiative (CLI) cohort season 6, and has worked extensively as teaching artist, sharing the healing power of poetry and creative writing to people of all ages!
